Livingstone / Victoria Falls ~ Zambia

On February 5th, 1905 the settlement near the Zambezi in Northern Rhodesia as it was called then, was officially named Livingstone after David Livingstone: the man who brought the mighty Mosi-oa-Tunya to the world and gave the Falls their more internationally recognized name – Victoria Falls, after his reigning monarch.

Livingstone continued to grow and flourish and is now enjoying rejuvenation as the major tourism capital in the Southern African region.

Visit the Livigntone Museum, the Steam Train Museum, The Cultural Market for souvenirs and a wide variety of restaurants, coffee shops and takeways.

Local Markets can also be a great experience where you can find  everything from fruit and vegetables, second hand clothing, cell phones and spares.
